Laura Fernandez - Paydoh and Creativity
It seems that often we are told to forget the "inner child" that sits deep within us. School and society tell us that memorization beats contemplation. However, the minute that younger side of us is triggered we are brought back to the thoughts of our yesteryears where we were free to do what we felt and free to feel what we do. In the Playdoh exercise, the minute the seal was broken and the smell of it hit us our little selves leaped up from the depths, jumping with excitement, wanting to play. The rusty wheels in our creative minds began to churn slowly at first, but then given the chance to warm up became more in tune with our creativity. Once again, we were those little children with endless possibilities.
