Grant Lewis- Play-Doh and Creativity
The article states, " Its left to the luck of the draw who becomes creative: there's no concerted effort to nurture the creativity of all children." After participating in the play-doh activity in class I realized how well this quote described the school system I grew up in. I was always told to do book work or solve problems in class and was never given time to express myself through creativity. I am an education major at Butler and have learned the importance of supporting creativity in my classroom through this article and activity. I hope that in my future classroom I can find ways to support children's creativity rather than teach them to ignore it.
