Phil Schroeder - Play-Doh and Creativity
In the article creativity is said to decline as we grow older. By participating in the Play-Doh exercise I was able to use my creative side even though I am an eighteen year old in college. The reason for the decline of creativity with age is that everyone has this misguided belief of what an adult is. Many people believe that to grow up we must cast away our imagination and creativity to forward our knowledge in school and get a career. This is completely untrue because creativity is important and if everyone could have the opportunity to just sit down for an hour and play with Play-Doh and just have fun and be creative, they would probably realize that their creative side is important. I think it is much more important for us to be creative as adults because since we don't always have time for fun and play we must do whatever we can to hold onto the creative and imaginative side of ourselves.
