My milk product for Moo-Moo Milk Makers will be called “iHeart Milk”. It is an adult only milk beverage targeted to men and women 45 years of age and older. Due to their age, I decided to model the milk package after the deliverance of milk back in the 60’s, which is a glass bottle or milk cartons. This is to remind them of how things were when they were growing up, which would make the package more appealing to this specific audience. I chose a glass bottle because it is more sophisticated for this mature audience.
The individually sold glass bottle will hold approximately 20oz of milk. It will have a dip around the rim which is big enough to either pour from (into a glass) or to drink from comfortably. The front of the bottle will advertise the brand “iHeart Milk,” the slogan “Love your milk, Love yourself,” and its organic information. The back of the bottle will read the milk’s nutritional information and its manufacturing information.
The colors of font will be simple and gender neutral; majority black with a splash of red. The red will be to highlight the words I want to stand out from the rest of the milk packages. “iHeart” will be in red while “Milk” is in black. These two colors will also pop against the white milk filled, clear container.
Since the model of the glass bottle package is a throwback to the sixties, the brand name “iHeart Milk” modernizes it to give the overall package balance. In today’s day and age, everything is technology based. This is what my brand name is modeled after. When talking through social networks, people tend to shorten words sometimes using symbols. For example, the word “love” can simply be replaced through the symbol of a heart “<3”, making “I <3 you” the equivalent to “I love you.” Also, “iHeart” reflects today’s biggest technology products such as the iPod, iTouch, and iPhone. Therefore, “iHeart Milk” is a modern way to say “I love milk” (I “<3” milk  I “heart” milk  I LOVE milk= “iHeart Milk”). I wanted to include a heart somewhere in the brand name, but I figured that would be more appealing to just women and not both men and women.
As for the slogan “Love your milk, Love yourself” is actually quite simple. Milk is an important part of your daily diet, and you should enjoy drinking it! Especially for those who are 45 and older, looking young is always a concern and part of looking young is looking healthy. So the more you drink milk, not only will you be healthier, but you’ll look healthy which means you’ll stay looking fresh and young! So; love your milk, love yourself!
